I was in Halfords this morning and noticed they had reduced many car radios to half-price. I've no idea if th products they offer at half-price are any good though.

Yeah - they have a good offer an a blackpunt (sp) model reduced from 400 to 199. Looked like a good one. Some other famous makes also available. Ultra tempting!Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0

Do your research carefully though. I bought a Pioneer model that they had at £199 and got them to price match Tottenham Court Road for £115 (and they were giving a £10 voucher at the time if you spent more than £50!).
They include free fitting in their price (but that was going to cost £85 in my case!). I had a friend have them fit one and they gave up after two hours (on an old car, not a super new complicated one). They just hope it's just a case of connecting the connector block up to the old one (which it sometimes is).

Do they come with USB ports as standard these days. I've seen some on eBay that do (£79 i think- and no, they are not mine!).

Ideal for ipods or usb memory cards to input to an old car radio, no need for those naff cassette adaptors.
have a look at ebay for some ideas, KEEP your old clunky car radio and get an FM modulator, and that old car cassette radio can play cd's, ipods, dvd's and usb memory cards as well.
And best of all nobody will wanna pinch it!0 -

Are these legal in the uk?0 -
Well there's loads of people using them. You are extremely unlikely to be told off for using one!
And Argos sell an expensive modulator for a DAB radio to insert in car, so hardly likely to illegal are they?0 -
There are two types of FM modulator, the legal ones plug into the aerial connection on your radio and the aerial cable then plugs into the modulator. The illegal ones are little wireless FM transmitters. What goes around - comes around0
