Sorry if I'm being thick but I don't really understand this changeover thing!

Can I still get the £5 off voucher and the 500 point voucher from the machine if I go in later today?

    Thanks!
    Joanne

THE £5 SKINNIE (or Skinny) VOUCHER
This is issued every time you spend £5 or more, in one transaction. It also forms part of The Skinnie Glitch. If you acquire one of these vouchers, you can then choose, say, a tube of Olay mentioned in the first post of this thread, which is priced at £5.86.

You present the tube with your Skinnie, and 86p and you are given a till receipt and another Skinnie! This is very unusual, because when we've had £5 off vouchers in the past, the till has read that you have actually spent under £5, so you're not entitled to another £5 voucher.

These vouchers are valid until the store closes on Tuesday 11th August.

THE 500 POINTS VOUCHER FROM THE ACM
When you put your Boots card in the Advantage Card Machine, you may get a voucher inviting you to buy any 2 Olay products, and get 500 points.

It was found that you could produce 2 Olay items, with 2 Skinnies and the 500 points voucher, and all this lot would go through a manned till, with an SA, not a self service till, and there would be no beeps.

You then earned £5 in points, paid 86p each for the 2 items, and received another Skinnie! But not everyone has received these 500 points vouchers.

As with a lot of Boots ACM vouchers, it's the luck of the draw. I was fortunate enough to get 5, which I believe is the maximum, so got 10 tubes of Olay, which cost me 10 x 86p (£8.60), but I received £25 in points! :j:j:j

    The goods are worth £58.60 (10 x £5.86), the points are worth £25 (5 x 500 points), less the £8.60 I paid, giving me a profit of £75!!!!

On Wednesday, 12th August Boots enter their next "Voucher Period" when you'll get another deduction from something else. Last time it was for various brands of hair products, another time it could be anything from a specific brand, such as Roc, we never know in advance, and nor do most of the staff. This voucher period lasts for 4 weeks.

We'll also be offered different coupons from the ACM - but you never know what, and we rarely all get the same. I have been offered points if I buy Support Tights, for 4 months now!!!!!!

So you can go shopping this afternoon, tomorrow, the next day etc, until close of play next Tuesday and still get a Skinnie!

    HTH

No it's sometimes as difficult to explain as to understand! And if you explain it in too much detail, that can sound either confusing, or as if you are talking down to people, which nobody means to do.:o

We were all new to this Bootsing lark once, and some of the glitches are soooooooo complicated - this lot are easy in comparison!

We had one Super-Duper one in February/March time, I think, where you bought 3 products, worth about £30, we were given 3 different vouchers from the ATM but they had to be presented in a particular order!!

But it was worth learning, cos you ended up getting the £30 worth of products and change!!!!!

I have skinnies coming out of my ears!!! Needed a few things, so went to Boots and spent about £25 on £76 worth of stuff (got lots of stuff on offer and in Clearance section inc No7 lipsticks and foundations for £1!), got 5 skinnies, then spent them on Time Delay eye cream (fab imho) and got yet more skinnies! Spent them on more TD and Olay stuff and got more skinnies! Do they ever end? :rotfl:

My Boots has a lovely SA who will let me spend them on wipes etc (the under £5 stuff) when it gets near the end of the promo. So I'll go in at the start of next week and get those. I haven't bought wipes in years! :D

Thanks again to the OP for this find.

How often do you lot visit Boots?? :rotfl:

    :o I was in 4 yesterday :rotfl: - and another 2 today!

I also have skinnies multiplying like rabbits in my bag, and there were no Olay face washes in any of the stores I visited today, but there were loads around yesterday. Hmmmm, I wonder why - could it be that we are nearing the end of the Olay Ole period, and the shelves have been emptied until Wednesday????

I remember that happened with the ROC promotion, when we were all getting wipes - none to be found on the shelves in the last week, and then they all miraculously appeared the next day!!!

Remember ladies, your skinnies are valid until close of play on Tuesday 11th August, and if you're lucky enough to get the Olay Ole vouchers from the ACM, they expire that day too. Good Luck!!!!!
