Paying off Virgin card

I am trying to make a debit card payment of 8K to clear my card, but I can't get their system to accept such a large amount. How did everyone else pay off their Virgin card online?

It may be that your debit card has a daily limit on it. Maybe pay off a smaller amount and repeat payments over a number of days?

Thanks DJ, all sorted now. called the bank and they put the payment through.0

when cleared on the Virgin website - call to cancel and get a 0% extension, just got one until 1st Oct, and a credit limit increase to £16.5k, but didn't know of this at the time, so only got the 95% of £15k; called today and they were apologetic, but the £1,500 available to transfer would be hit with a £30 fee!0

Was there a fee on your 95% of £15k?US4 wrote:when cleared on the Virgin website - call to cancel and get a 0% extension, just got one until 1st Oct, and a credit limit increase to £16.5k, but didn't know of this at the time, so only got the 95% of £15k; called today and they were apologetic, but the £1,500 available to transfer would be hit with a £30 fee!0 -

Apparently not, as per original T&Cs of 9mths ago, but have yet to see the transaction online or statement.0 -
My T&C's (also of last year) said they 'may' charge a £35 fee - and they did for my repeat SBT.US4 wrote:Apparently not, as per original T&Cs of 9mths ago...
However, whilst they seem to apply this for SBT's, the fee can be avoided (in my experience) by BT'ing from another card such as Egg Money.
From memory, the BT fee is posted a couple of days after the BT itself shows in your recent transactions....but have yet to see the transaction online or statement.0 -
Virgin charged me £35 for the 0% transfer last month.
I thought I could get away with it by transferring to my Tesco card rather than doing a SBT, but was still charged.
The first minimum payment will be £40 to include the BT fee, plus the usual payment of £5.0 -
Well I phoned to cancel on Saturday and was put through to Customer Retention. The best offer she had was 1.9% for six months. When I told her I really wanted another 0% offer, she said, there was no reason why I couldn't phone back another day and get a better offer, but she didn't have anything of her screen that day. So I guess I'll try again today.0
