British Gas Homecare Annual Service rip-off

My first monthly payment on a Homecare agreement with British Gas was on 27/02/07. The first inspection was not carried out until the middle of April. Last year they did not come and do the annual service until the end of July. This year I did not get a reminder and so rang them up to book. The earliest date was the end of August. I pointed out that the average interval between services was gradually being extended quite a considerable way over the contracted 12 months and they were obviously making money at my expense. The woman I spoke to said that their contract stated that they were only obliged to do a 12 month service within an 18 month period ! When I told her there was nothing in their Terms and Conditions which stated this, she replied 'it was there somewhere'. Has anyone else experienced similar and have I any redress over another typical Brotish gas rip-off?

Read your terms and conditions the First Visit is your first years annual service.

As long as BG do a service within YOUR contractual year they are not breaking there own T&Cs. They also ask the cust to book a suitable time for these appointments.

My advice would be to ring up to make your appointment when you want it, they wont say no, and you get the date/time you want.

Also getting your ASV done in Feb is pretty bad timing really and would always get pushed into the summer months.
