Termination letter help

Hi I was made redundant yesterday and received my termination letter today which only mentions that my employment has been terminated and no reason - will this be enough for the JSA and housing benefit or does it have to state redundancy? I was only employed for just over 2 months so I presume they dont have to give a reason?

Although I left yesterday it also states that my last working day is the 5th august but that I dont have to work my notice period - I have a meeting tomorrow with the job centre, will this also cause a problem as I told them this morning (before the letter arrived) that my last working day was yesterday, which I was led to believe it was?

Hi, visited the CAB today about the same thing. You need to no if you were made reduntant or dismissed. You should have received a letter stating either. The date on the letter is the date you go by, you are entitled to one weeks notice from that date, whether you work it or not and the Job centre will go from that date. Good luck.

Don't worry about having told them your employment was terminated on Wednesday when in fact you are simply not working during your notice period. Just explain when you are there and you can show them the letter you have from your employer.

Redundancy is a form of dismissal - it is a fair reason. As you have not been there long, they may not have used the word. The Jobcentre should contact your employer to ask them about the reason for your leaving.
