Paying cheque into RBS account in a NatWest branch

Can this be done, does anyone know? I've got my redundancy cheque to pay into my RBS account, but my nearest branch is 12 miles away whereas there's a Natwest just a good walk away.

Yes, my OH does it all the time. It takes a bit longer to reach his account. Also, I would pay it in at the counter rather than at the automated pay-in machine.

you can only do this if you have a pre printed paying in slip for the rbs account - you cannot use a manual one... hope that helps!

Cheers. By pre-printed you mean one out of my RBS chequebook, as opposed to one at the counter?

It is from a chequebook, I popped in at lunch time and asked.

sorry i was a bit slow to respond! yeah from your cheque book or a paying in book that has been sent out to you!

There is a maximum limit of up to £5,000 that the cheque/cash can be for. This is true for Natwest pay ins at RBS branches, so I'm assuming it would be the same for RBS pay ins into Natwest.

As you've been told, you need take a paying in slip

Ahh, thanks for that. The redundancy cheque's for more than that, so it looks like I'll need to make a trip to town.
