mine's not too bad - he logs me into his bank i work it all out and do the transfers and say you have x left until your next payday! I do have to admit i do have controlling streak when it comes to money so it works for me but it would be nice if he understood why even £50 into his overdraft buggs me
Do you know, mine works as a manager and can balance to the last penny? In fact he is praised for his skills:eek: Just goes to show doesn't it? A bit like a plumber who never fixes a leak at home, or a builder whose house is unfinished.:rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

(Gosh I'm rambling on already). So here goes. From tonight its back to buying only what we honestly need.
Did the main shop tonight and only spent £20 including wine. Have a freezer and cupboard full of food that can keep us going for months. I also have a wardrobe - all be it charity wear, that could clothe the UK.
I need wine too. :beer:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
If I'm giving up my shoe and shopping habit a couple bottles of wine are required for weekend entertainment - its a lot cheaper! This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Hiya P
Just having a read through your diary, I'm pretty new here too
Funny how addictive paying the debts off are eh?0 -
I have to remember to take it steady or we will run out of dosh before payday! I was doing really well at the end of last year but this silly recession thing just got in the way and messed things up, how rude of it.
Its a nicer feeling having some control over the situation, rather than waking up at 3am worrying to death about it. I even prefer not spending rather than feeling guilty about what I've spent and owe.
Good luck on your debt busting - its a good addiction to have, I think.:DThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

Lemon Tree you are doing so well with your debt, your signature is inspiring. I wish I could run a decent budget at home like the one I manage at work, but at some point on the journey home my business brain leaves me (maybe aided by the wine)!

Managed to ignore the sales yesterday and just do the family day out as planned and within budget. Today didn't go quite so well, forgot to take meat from the freezer for tea so had to buy fresh, but found some on offer and didn't pick up any chocolate along the way, so not as bad as it could be.
Back to family normality tonight with everyone home, so hoping for a good cheap night in front of the TV (with a bit of wine to help the evening along)!:D
Now need a plan of action not to fritter money in Mr T's at the weekend - probably one of my worst black holes. As much as I try to be old style during the week, it goes to pot by Saturday morning. Being good I have taken tomorrow's lunch from the freezer to defrost and I bought the meat and veg for Sunday in the weekly shop so at least I won't need to wander around the store. I just find it really hard not to 'treat' the rest of the family.
Intend to bake some cakes and biscuits tomorrow as we are running short of sweet treats - just raiding the cupboard now to see what ingredients I can liven them up with. Fairy cakes with fruit pastelles thrown in seemed to work well last week. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
