    I never insulted anyone. I simply don't think anone would have the account holder's password. Sounds utter rubbish to me and it made me suspicious. Nothing wrong with that.

    If it was Barclaycard's own 'Collection Department', then yes, of course they would know the password. Frequently, part of the identification process is to give 3 characters from someone's password. I think it is genuine. Shame that Barclays Bank Manager who posts on the Banking and Savings forums isn't around to comment.

    Given all the times people are asked to be cautious about giving details over the phone and discussing their accounts with people who ring up, in order to prevent phishing, I think its entirely understandable that someone might have actually been listening to these warnings.

    Kudos to the OP for being cautious. I wish more people were.
