Hello Zee, my husband has just retired and i had the same question.
Your DLA continues after you reach retirement age.
Presumably you are on Incapacity Benefit and DLA and they are paid together as one once a fortnigtht, as was my husband. When he reached 65 he still received his DLA and also started to receive his pension but in two separate amounts. But watch that it goes in because the IB people 'forgot' to tell the DLA and i had to chase it up. So dont worry. They are two different entities so you can defer your pension and still receive your DLA.
I am about to become a retiree in October but i am not going to defer mine, i work full time at the moment and wish to go down to part time. So my monthly incomings will be about the same but i will have 2 days a week free from then.
Hope that helps. Good luck in your retirement.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
