Made redundant in May, found new job, made redundant today - that rhymes :T

Anyone else fancy joining me somewhere in a bar in the tropics - Im about to lose all faith I think :(

  • This is more common than most people think.

People who are made redundant are more likely to take the first opportunity for a job (probably advisable in the climate) but in a high number of cases this is also a company that is struggling.

Its also not uncommon for people to be made redundant 3 or 4 times in a slump (recession) & also many take temporary contracts which can see them having several different positions over a couple of years.

    Chin up.

I've had that. 2001 redundant in July, new job straightaway, redundant in October, new job in November lasted 2 weeks, left for a supposedly better job, redundant in March 2002. Getting made redundant once is bad enough but 3 times in less than 12 months began to smell like carelessness. Does your head in and a recruitment consultant sympathized with my predicament (bills to pay) and what 1984 says is correct.
  • This happened to my oh too. 4 redundancies in 3 years. So no redundancy pay either.
