Removing CIFAS markers

I've got two fraud markers on my CIFAS report which I need removed (they are a result of my ex-partner using a stolen cheque book which I wasn't aware of). I've written to both companies and had one response so far saying they have removed the marker from my Credit File.
Assuming the other company agrees (I have a letter from the police backing me up, so I should be able to get them to agree!), how long before the markers get removed from CIFAS? Will I have to do another SAR to check the warnings have actually been removed from the system?

They should be taken off straight away.
Yes you are better off S.A.R CIFAS, to make sure they aren't "hidden".0 -
Also check here to see what cifas screens look like! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1576035
good luck, easy enough once you prove that it wasn't you...... but don't SAR Cifas until about a month after the companies come back and confirm they have removed it cos it could be a wasted £10 otherwise.... also bear in mind that a company can refuse to issue another SAR if they had recently done one so it's not like you can request one monthly as they do refuse.2010 - year of the troll

Got my Equifax Credit Report this morning, I didn't know this included a CIFAS information section on the report, anyway the CIFAS section lists my CIFAS Protective Registration and a fraud warning - category 2- victim of impersonation. So looks like the fraud markers have gone! :j:beer:
Now I can think about reapplying for the Barclays Cash Card account, one more step on this wonderful road back to debt free living (and dreaming of having a clean credit report!)0
