Hi--my son uses an oldish dell Optiplex GL240 and the screen res has gone to pot---it's all too big for the screen and grainy.
I've tried to reset it but it doesn't happen--could it be the card?
Oddly though, this happened after a restart for some recent microsoft updates, it was OK before--coincidence?:D

Is your display driver installed?
Start >> Run >> devmgmt.msc
What's your Display Adapter set as?0 -
More likely the graphics driver has become corrupted. Reinstall the driver if you have it. If not, try rolling back the driver from Device Manager, finally you could try a system restore.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

I don't have the driver so I will try a rollback tomorrow and maybe an uninstall/reinstall and see how it goes.
Odd about the updates though--too coincidental:eek:0 -

Ahhh the good old GX240 lol
System restore should be a 2nd from last resort (2nd to full reinstall) and I doubt it will fix a genuinely corrupt driver.
It may seem like the "easy" option, but don't do it.
Go download the GFX driver from Dells support/downloads site HERE
I suspect the driver will install to a temporary folder and you'll then have to go into the folder and use "setup.exe" or similar.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
