Help! Keyboard on my laptop types double dutch!

Please could someone help, my Sony Vaio Laptop keyboard has gone doolally! it is sooooo annoying, I type 4 or 5 words and it either slips back to the beginning of the line or jumbles the words up.
I have hoovered the keyboard but its still the same. I have tried updating the drivers, still no luck, The keys don't appear to be sticking, so I have no idea what is going on.
Any ideas anyone please

are you unconsciously brushing the touchpad with the heels of your hands making the cursor jump about? I had that problem for a while, took me ages to figure it out
