Barclays Regular Saver, taking money out?

Hi hope anyone can help me as have had conflicting information from barclays, I currently have the 7.75% reg saver that I opened in december. unfortunatley due to unforseen circumstances I have had to make a withdrawl. The question is does the interest rate just drop for the month of that withdrawl or will it now saty at the lower rate for the remainder of the account term? Just so I know to keep it there or move and start a new reg saver.
Thanks in advance

The current terms for the Barclays Monthly Saver are that you get the lower interest rate only for the month of the withdrawal, and that for following months you will get the higher rate again. These are also the terms for my 6% Monthly Saver which I opened in March.
Although I strongly suspect the rules for your account are exactly the same, there might be differences depending on when your account was opened. You need to contact Barclays if you're not sure.0 -
Thanks pinkpig, thats how I read it on my paperwork the call centre confirmed it but when I checked when making withdrawl the cashier said the remainder of the term would be lower.
supose I just wait another month after and request a statement.0 -
PinkPig is correct and the cashier wrong, looking through the Barclays pamphlet that came with the 7.75% offer it states : 7.75% AER (7.49%Gross p.a) paid in months where you don't make any withdrawals.
3.03% AER (2.99 Gross p.a) paid in months where you make a withdrawal."When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".
