When to relist?

I'm in the middle of moving house and i've sold quite a few items of furniture on Ebay recently, all collection only.
One of the items sold last Wednesday and i've heard nothing at all from the buyer. It was a last minute bid so the bidder knows he has won, i've sent an invoice and then on Sat morning I sent a message asking when he would like to pick the item up but still no answer. Normally I am a very patient seller but the item needs to be out of my house before the end of next week when I move, how long do you think I should wait before relisting the item?
TIA

I think that you would have to file a NPB alert and allow the buyer a chance to respond to it and complete the transaction before actually re-listing the item. If you were to re-list the item now and then the buyer pays, you're going to find yourself in a difficult situation.
The buyer may have been away over Easter and perhaps that is why they haven't contacted you as yet.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

That's what I was thinking, although I did clearly list on the auction that the item had to be picked up promptly. His feedback isn't the best either, I really really hope he isn't a time waster. _pale_Debt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_

Still no contact from the buyer. I've just sent a message saying that if he doesnt want to complete the sale that's ok but I really need him to let me know today so I can relist the item quickly.
If he doesn't respond and I file a NPB dispute at the end of the week does anyone know how long the buyer has to respond to it?Debt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_

I would say, have a quick read through the Unpaid Item Process. You can see it here: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/tp/unpaid-item-process.html
Having had a buyer that didn't pay, I emailed several times and waited just over three weeks, then filed for a final value credit. This takes 7 days i think then I left the buyer nigitave feedback explaining the situation and relisted.
Hope this helps!2006 eBay aim: £1000.00

I had a no response buyer. I emailed over several days, threatened to give negative feedback never had any response at all. Reported it to eBay, and after a day or two checked the box for "agreed to go no further" or "come to an agreement" (don't recall actual eBay wording) on their form. Relisted it before the time ran out in any case, sold it for exactly the same amount! Never heard back from original buyer. All my error as he/she had zero feedback. Remembered to check box for "no buyers with less than 5 positive feedbacks" when relisting.0

There is no such box to tick - only buyers with minus feedbackIt's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Then they didn't get a strike on their account?Tribal wrote:All my error as he/she had zero feedback. Remembered to check box for "no buyers with less than 5 positive feedbacks" when relisting.
What would everyone do if this had always been the case? We would never get anywhere on eBay. Its not all the 0 feedback people who are bad. I've had people with hundreds be just as bad.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0 -
You can tick to stop bidders with less than 5 feedback *who also have no credit card on file.*

The problem with that though is that firstly the buyer gets off scot free with no strike on their account. Secondly you lose your Final Value fees and thirdly the buyer remains able to leave you feedback, and a low feedback buyer may well be tempted to leave a neg for not giving them enough time to pay.

Its important to ensure that you follow the Unpaid Item Process as much as poss. I personally have a large feedback rating with 100% thumbs up.
I have never placed restrictions on buyers but it is worth thinking of when relisting some items if you have had problems with buyers winning and not paying.2006 eBay aim: £1000.00
