Have a look on the freebies board too as there are baby things on there that you can send for - like teddybears from Aptimil etc.

Have you thought of shopping in supermarkets other than Tesco or Sainsbury? If there is Lidl near you - shop there as they have some lovely food and they are getting some more recognisable labels too. Get your meat in a local butcher (the best ones have a queue outside the door) as their meat is often cheaper and is much nicher than supermarket meat. Veggies get from the greengrocer too and maybe even eggs (my local market garden veggie shop sells half a dozen eggs for 59p and sometimes they sell for as little as 29p:cool:) which beats supermarket eggs hands down. If you have a Home Bargains or a Wilkinsons near you then go there for cleaning products. Make a shopping list before you go shopping so that you know what you need and are not tempted by impulse buys.

Don't consolidate your debts by taking out a loan either as that makes the situation worse.

Personally, I wouldnt give up self employment as by being self employed you can choose your own hours and you won't get that luxury if you work for someone else.

Don't forget to use a cashback site to switch your home insurances after you have used a price comparison site to find the best deal!

Well it's one step forward and two steps back, I did a days work yesterday to get extra cash and on the way home drove into a tree!!!

I'm fine but car isn't. The pennies and few pounds I managed to save last week seem meaningless faced with a £250 excess bill to pay. Should have stayed at home with DS, cost me more than i earned!!! This bad luck spell doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.

On the upside I have just joined Quidco and wow what a lot of stuff is on there I could have earned so much cashback over the last few years what with Mothercare, B&Q, Homebase, the AA all on there. Pitty I've no money to spend now!! But will def see if I can use it for swapping insurance. next month.

Quick question. I was wondering if i should switch gas & elec as on Eon dual fuel and have been for a while except they say we owe them over £300 now so presumably you can't switch till you pay that off or can you take that with you to next supplier like an overdraft?

P.S If anyone else has a little un, I stocked up on wipes, nappy bags, baby bath etc as it's all half price in Sainsbury at moment. so if you get supermarket own label and at half price i think that's pretty good.:rotfl:

    Hi fi76,

You can arrange a transfer to another supplier with arrears on the account, however E.ON can object to the transfer on the grounds of debt. They may not object but then payment of the final balance would be required on receipt of the final bill. :o

Unfortunately you are unable to transfer arrears from one supplier to another.

Is the debt from just the latest bill or is it from a shortfall in monthly payments?

If the £300+ is from the last bill, a payment plan could be set up to help you pay this, alternatively if it’s a monthly payment shortfall the monthly amount you need to pay could be negotiated to a more manageable amount. ;)

I’m happy to offer assistance to you in relation to your energy accounts, so any questions please give me a shout! I’m sure there are things we can do to help. :)
