My Epson CX3200 has just died so am looking into getting a new one.
My main priorities are speed. Although I don't often print photos, I suppose I would like the option for reasonable quality if it's going.
I am homing in on two options:
Epson again ( RX520) or HP 3210( currently on offer at not much more expensive than the Epson).
Any advice on either these two or anything else I haven't considered? TIA

Are you still considering an all in one again or would you consider a standalone printer as the Epson R200 / R300 is a great printer and I would reccomend it as it produces great photos and you can print directly onto CD's and DVD's. You can pick up compatible inks for this printer at about £1 per ink (6 inks needed) instead of £10+ for genuine Epson inks0

Thank you but yes, I do need an all in one.0

I'd get the Epson. Don't get a Lexmark, we made that mistake and the ink is £40 for moderate use!!!0

I've got an Epson RX425 - it's a great all in one unit but I do find it very 'ink hungry' when it comes to printing photos. As an example, I printed an A4 photo and it used 1/4 of each of the 4 ink cartridges (that worked out at nearly £10 worth of ink) I don't know if the RX520 is the same...It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission0

I had an Expson cx5200 until a few days ago, when it died again. Apparently a big fault on both models is a tube that blows off and no matter what you do it won't print until this is reconnected. Had it done once about 10 months ago, but didn't bother this time. Bought a HP psc 1410, cost less than £60. Haven't printed photos out yet, but happy with copying and printing. Has a black cart. and a tri colour cart. Approx £9.02 and £10.25 from ebuyer for hp originals.0

I've just realised that I said I had a CX3200 when I meant cx 5200. Interesting that yours died too vandanfc. That's making me sway against the epson. It would be nice if it was possible to know ink usage of all the different printers.Manufacturers should be forced to declare ink consumption of their machines.0
