Halifax, A&L and B&B accounts

Hi

I initiated a BACS transfer from my B&B account to Halifax yesterday afternoon. The earliest date given was today (29th) - is this the processing date? When am I likely to see funds credit my Halifax account - Thurs / Friday?

Having reviewed my B&B internet saver (issue 3) account yesterday, I thought there's no benefit for me keeping my funds there till anniversary (Sept), so have decided on applying for the A&L online saver (issue 5).

However, it appears I cannot link it to my B&B account to 'pull' funds, thus having to terminate the application process. There are two courses of action I can take:

1. Action another BACS transfer from B&B to my Halifax current account, then apply for the A&L and link to Halifax
2. Apply for the basic A&L current account, await accounts details, transfer BACS from B&B into Halifax in meantime. Once A&L CA is opened, transfer funds from HFX to A&L, then apply for A&L OS5 and link together.

I'm trying to avoid the initial 11 days direct debit 'handshake'.
