Should I switch to British Gas?
According to energyhelpline.com, I stand to save 20% on my electricity bills (I don't have gas) if I move from EOn's Extra Saver 8 plan to British Gas's WebSaver 3.
Obviously that's pretty damned tempting!
However, I was with British Gas a few years back and they drove me mad with their poor service and incomprehensible bills (EOn have, in this respect, been a delight).
Any advice/recommendations from anyone?

If the service you receive is worth the extra 20% in cost then pay for it. If not, is it really that difficult working out for yourself what you should be paying and keeping track? Seems a straightforward enough occasional chore for a 20% saving. It may be tiresome when things go wrong but, in practice, how many times and what sort of things can go wrong?0

Depending upon what does go wrong - if anything - you may have cause for complaint and recompense from your supplier.
I appreciate the complexity of some of the bills produced by some companies can be misleading.........is this not their intention
However, I've had cause to complain in the past 2 years with Npower, EDF and B.G. I obtained modest compensation from the latter two - no admission of liability or guilt of course from either.;)
Money has to be the (almost) only reason to change. I really believe that if enough customers moved refularly then each of the suppliers would start to reduce their charges and introduce loyalty incentives.
Am I on my own with this or do many more of you believe we are STILL being charged way too much for our gas (and electric)?
I've moved suppliers 4 or 5 times in the past 2-3 years. It's easy to achieve.....just be careful you don't subscribe to a tarif that charges you a penalty should you decide to leave after a short time. Also, be careful about discounts being offered that only kick-in if you remain with the supplier for a set period of time......a year for example.
Generally, I believe a typical gas supplier will offer good deals on electric whilst a typical electricity generator/supplier will offer good deals on gas. Crazy world:rotfl:0
