Cracked ceramic hob

I was cleaning the ceramic hob last night and I noticed there is a crack right through the glass from one side to the other. It goes over two rings. I turned the rings on for a second and they still work.

Is it still safe to use, or is it likely to be damaged further if I use the rings for any length of time?

No idea how it's been cracked. It's one of those cases where nobody knows anything about it
Here I go again on my own....

    I would call/email the makers.

The brand name isn't printed on the hob, and I can't remember who the manufacturer is or where I bought it from :o

I've looked around the net and found installation instructions for various brands that say don't install if it's cracked, so it's probably not safe to use. Think I'm going to have to buy a new one :(

    Hi

I recently dropped a bottle of Gaviscon through our induction ceramic hob at home and as we have accidental damage cover on our home insurance they paid for the replacement less the excess.

Fingers crossed you will be covered.

Just checked and I'm not covered for accidental damage :(
