    Hi,

Did your issue happen in the last 24 hours?

If it did im hoping it's a smtp issue on their side.
yes, I just noticed it this morning, I last sent mail successfully at 8.30 last night

I'm getting this error message ...

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Swan', Server: 'smtp.googlemail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

    I have the error message:

This message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server googlemail.com failed
The server may be unavailable or refusing SMTP connections. Please Verify that your SMTP server setting is correct or contact your netork administrator.

So im guessing for some it's down and i shouldn't fiddle with anything and hold tight!
    Thanks for confirming issues.

Yes, exactly. It'll no doubt resolved very quickly. You can of course still send through googlemail on line.

    Check your smtp setup.

I ran the telnet test & it was fine, then I got a message to the effect that the problem is most likely temporary & will resolve itself, & to wait 24 hours before doing any more troubleshooting

I'll just have to wait & see what happens, I still have access to my mail so it's not a big problem
