What is SAAS? I'm really confused here because you say your problems started when you increased your income - how does that work?
If you aren't studying during the summer, can't you work full time?0 -
I'm currently a student, in my penultimate year.
As I'm a student I don't pay council tax, but I'm not eligible for any other benefits.
I don't know how my landlord would take the news that I am unable to pay the sum back before our contract expires as my parents signed a form which stated that if I couldn't keep up with repayments they would step in and pay it.
My parents however are no longer in a position where they could do this and I wouldn't like for him to put my parents in such a position.
Any other suggestions, as I would like to keep talking to my land lord as a last resort.
Laura
If your parents are guarantors on your tenancy then they will be chased for the money if you don't pay. Does your landlord have a deposit and is anything damaged? Your rent is a priority bill, you need to be paying that and forgetting about anything that isn't essential. Pay what you can on your rent and feed yourself, forget the mobile phone/ landline/ internet/ visits home/ electricity bills/ travel to work (walk or cycle). All of this you can catch up on paying once you are out of that house and you have caught up on your rent.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Hi,
cheers for all the advice, sorry if I was confusing at some points,
SAAS is an awards agency in Scotland that pays for tuition fees and pays you a student loan during term. Last year I got £200 a month from them. During the summer this payment is no longer awarded, thus my income goes down by £200.
I've been unable to get a full time job yet and have nearly given up trying since I move out in a couple of weeks.
I've come to the conclusion that since I paid down a deposit of the rent amount and one months rent in advance, I'll use my last month to save up to pay for one month and use the deposit to pay for the other one... It's gonna be tight, but it should be alright.
Cheers for all your advice, I'm very much looking forward to moving home and forgetting about money for a year or two

Scrub the house to within an inch of it's life and make sure you are present at checkout so you can sort anything that is flagged up.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
