replace broken shower door handle - where to get a new one?!

My shower door handle has broken off and I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere.

It is a pretty standard corner shower cubicle. The type where (if facing the shower) the front and left hand side of the cubicle are the walls of the room; the right hand side is a shower cubicle panel and behind you is the shower cubicle door.

A bit like this (the shower not the handle): http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9295751&fh_reftheme=promo_159792088%2cseeall%2c%2f%2fcatal!!!1%2fen_GB%2fcategories%3C{9372014}%2fcategories%3C{9372035}%2fcategories%3C{9372175}%2fspecificationsProductType%3dshower_enclosures&fh_view_size=10&fh_location=%2f%2fcatal!!!1%2fen_GB%2fcategories%3C{9372014}%2fcategories%3C{9372035}%2fcategories%3C{9372175}%2fspecificationsProductType%3dshower_enclosures%2fspecificationsSpecificProductType%3dsquare_enclosures&fh_eds=%C3%9F&fh_refview=lister&ts=1248822928066&isSearch=false

The handle itself is white plastic and about 8 cm long.

Anyone know where I might be likely to find a replacement?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

  • Hi,

maybe you could try looking for a patio door handle.

Thanks for the suggestion, however I do not think that a patio door handle will fit. The door handle I'm trying to replace is effectively just two simple pieces sof molded white plastic. The first bit just screws on to the shower door and the second bit just clips on to that to give a smooth surface to the handle and hide the screws.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I can't be teh first to have broken a pretty standard plastic handle off?! :p

I think your best bet is the manufacturer.
    Do you know the make?
If not maybe search a few manufacturers looking for your handle.
If the B&Q one is suitable, maybe they can help.

The brand should be marked somewhere on it, mine is top right on the door,
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
