Newcastle to Sunderland £5 Off Peak Day Return (1x16 to 25 + 1x Senior)
Sunderland to London £93.70 Off Peak Return Grand Central Trains Only (1x16 to 25 + 1x Senior)

Prices from the East Coast Website and to find the Grand central trains click 'show slower trains' then tick 'Grand Central only' and update

Does anyone know if you can book ANY tickets on the Virgin site and get the credit card discount - or do they have to be Virgin routes/trains?
    Thanks!

IIRC and I've tried this before it's for certain Advance tickets only so its a bit hit and miss, but more annoying is that you can't use it with any railcards :(

    But here's the T&C's

I am travelling from dartford to manchester on Wed 10th March and returning on Thurs 11th March for the Man U v Ac Milan match. Cheapest outbound i found the other day was £19 but thats gone up to £28 and cheapest in bound I found was £14 but its gone up to £19 so thats £47 in total. Should I book this or wait and see if it goes cheaper later on? I have tried the websites recommended in the guides to come up with £47.

Alot of Man U fan will be travelling up from London that day hence why the advance prices are creeping upways, I personally would buy at those prices now as the only direction the advance ticket prices are going is up.

Or if you don't mind travelling a bit longer, then in your search engine use advance options/more options and 'via sheffield' brings the prices to £19 Advance single one way

Thank you for all help. Julie.

If you are only going to Earles Court, then maybe all you need is an Off Peak Day Return to West Brompton. Any train leaving Aldershot after 09:30, change at Clapham Junction (may need to change at Woking too), for West Brompton. Off Peak Day Return = £17.20.

If you want to go via Waterloo, you need a One Day Off Peak Travelcard from Aldershot at £22.90.

Those two tickets drop to £13.30 and £18.30 respectively if you can travel Super Off Peak... depart Aldershot after 11:00. There are evening peak travel restrictions too.

Please could you explain a bit more as I rairly travel by train.
If we go Aldershot to Waterloo on a nonstop train after 9.30 it will cost £22.90 - is that each adult or for us both? From Waterloo we can get the underground to Earls Court, is that included in the ticket or do we buy a seperate ticket? Also what time is off peak on the return?
The Ideal Home show starts @ 10 am. So we would arive @ approx 11am and that is ok. Just want a day out. Thanks for your help. Julie

Ok, first things first... all prices I have quoted are for one person. Sorry, didn't make that clear.

If you want to go via Waterloo and the Underground then any train after 09:30 will cost each of you £22.90. There are no evening restrictions on an Off Peak ticket... only on a Super Off Peak ticket.

I was suggesting travelling to West Brompton, because its cheaper and in fact it might even be a shorter walk than from Earls Court Underground. But of course... its your choice.
