Planting Leylandii

Yes, that sounds about right for the height you're aiming at.
Jojo, you win the Jobsworth Council's Dream Citizen award.:A
I think that is meant as an amusing insult? I actually like the things, but where I live there are huge amounts of rules in place to make life difficult for people.
Of course, if you would rather I didn't mention that there could be possible implications that hadn't occurred to the OP, I'll keep quiet. Until such time as someone posts to say they put some lovely leylandii in and they've had a letter from the council demanding that they are removed or enclosing a bill for damage caused - or that they've had a letter from next door's insurance company saying much the same. I'm sure they would fell much better if I were to post then, saying 'I knew that would happen but Dave told me to keep quiet'.
So, OP, I take it back, there are no potential problems with planting leyland cypress.
So enjoy. :rolleyes:I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
JoJo you just nearly gave me a heart attack!! they will be about 20 ft from house and they are purley in my garden, house is semi detached and they will be planted inbetween my garden and driveway so they shouldnt be any problems (fingers crossed) thanks for the info tho I will check my house ins to be safe.
What do you suggest in the gaps...im not very greenfingered?

Jojo, I think you should take what the OP said at face value. [STRIKE]He[/STRIKE] She said she intended to keep the trees at around 8' and I think you should do [STRIKE]him[/STRIKE] her the courtesy of believing what she says. What she proposes is not a difficult thing to do, twisted ankles or no, and she sounds like a very responsible person to me.;)0 -
Thanks Davesnave....and if i do break my ankle, my fab hubby will cut them for me (by the way im a she

I understand your concern, Dave, but I assure you that I was not suggesting Lea was a fool at all. I have, however, seen what happens when someone has a little accident and their garden has gone absolutely mad in the intervening period between injury and recovery. Luckily, Lea has a lovely bloke to do it for her.
I'd just type in 'plants for woodland' or 'shade loving plants' in google and see what comes up that you like the look of!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Davesnave that has made me laugh so much0
