Moneysaving idea

I used to have a health food supplier deliver to me direct at wholesale prices, there is a minimum order of about £200.
But what I did is order approx once a month with a group of friends, and we would share the stuff out.

So we would get trays of tinned toms, baked beans, hot chocolate, big tubs of bouillion etc.

As it was all organic and good quality it wasnt that cheap ie nothing like tesco economey, and you had to pick and choose as some things were still cheaper at the supermarket, but it was great also supporting a good company rather than a supermarket.

The companies I used were marigold foods and Infinity foods.

Might try setting it up again. :T

great idea :) ... I used to run a (non-profit making) wholefoods co-op & we saved an absolute fortune compared to supermarket prices & I loved having my living room full of sacks of things & weighing them all out*, like being a little girl again & playing 'shoppies' :D

but it was years ago & the company I used (Real Foods in Edinburgh) closed their wholesale section & I've always regretted having to give it up

*the one I never offered to order again was a box of glace cherries to share, very messy to weigh out!

We use Suma for something very similar - this has been spoken about on here before for anyone wanting more info. Just use the search facility (well, unless squeaky is along soon with links ;)

    :)

I remember the thread - I just can't remember a key word that'll help me find it.

Having said that - maybe "bulk" will do it...
