Yes they did, CRA's have been around for years, Experian aka SCOREX previously CCN systems who were owned by GUS aka Littlewoods and Shop Direct Group.
Glad to see you done your homework, but when GUS started it out back in 1902 (pre CNN Systems) and until the early 90's interbank sharing was the norm. CRA's were relatively unheard of and certainly not used, catalogues always used them as there was no physical contact made. With banks, usually you went in and the bank manager would decide - not a computer.
Maybe you're missing the point - CRA's have only had an impact over the last 10 years - before this only 3 banks used them as gospel (Barlcays, Lloyds & Abbey). Natwest, Hbos & HSBC always used to go on their internal scoresheet without using the CRA data. Then if the data is incorrect you can get it corrected.
Assuming the OC believes you, as we all know they tend to stick together and ignore us - you know the ones that keep them running!I did not mention nor use Protective Registration any where in my posts - irrelevant,
Not so. It is acutely relevant as it is a service offered and you implied that we're all scum or dodgy if cifas have data about us and I argued this is untrue as Protective Reg isn't a dodgy thing is it?I have PPR on all three of my Credit Files and when ever I make a application for credit-type products I am contacted by CIFAS members to confirm my security details. Nothing to do with 'dodgy'.
So that means each thing you apply for will be manually assessed and also why you get refused more than you should do. Some lenders still ignore things like that and refuse the custom - I know they shouldn't do this but they do!2010 - year of the troll

Sygma are the worst bank ever for incompetence, they decline every application I have ever made, there words "Adverse data on your credit file" and I have no adverse data on any of my files. So what is that all about? They will not even have an underwriter talk to me or review the data on my file, they cant even conduct the credit search correctly, they search my previous address every time and not the address where I live, so how are they supposed to see my accounts etc?
Bunch of idiots.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Only if they are CIFAS Members can they query the information held I think, I am not even sure they can see it if they are not a member of CIFAS.

Yea, you're spot on. They have to be a cifas member but now almost every bank is a member.... i'll post a link to them: http://www.cifas.org.uk/default.asp?edit_id=721-90
See Sygma don't work that way, they are owned by the French and as such they are totally strict (bear in mind our debt problem compared to the French) so if anything doesn't add up they tend to refuse you or add a cifas alert!
Loads of people on here have been given a cifas by applying to Sygma - totally unacceptable if you ask me. Yea, they do remove the marker but until you actually find out about it then you'll never know and they are sneaky cos they add it direct with CIFAS meaning you gotta SAR them to get to see it as it will not show on your Credit Report (bang outta order).....
Maybe it'd be an idea taking off the PR and then applying, but in all honesty after 3yrs when you no longer declare the linked address it should be easier.
There are a few lenders that ignore the CIFAS rules and reject based on manual system, i.e. they don;t want to take the risk of underwriting you so just bin the application (grrrrr)!
You'd be better with a CitiGold or the like they are reasonably easy (you shoudl be fine with having Ulster/BOI)....... much better than Sygma cards. :beer:2010 - year of the troll

does anyone know anythng about this site .
Yes, its rubbish and limited data - it does not show the full credit file and should be used as a light reference point - not the exact science as usually things are omitted and/or missing - period!
They offer a snap-shot of one of your credit files, you should send £2 statutory fee to each CRA and get the true picture, at least annually.2010 - year of the troll

Indeed, it is a legal requirement to be on the electorl roll if you are eligible.
You can opt not to be on the 'edited' version of the roll but the full version is sent to the CRAs whether you like it or not.
Does it make any difference to your credit rating, if you (as I have) opt out of the edited version of the electoral roll, as my experian credit report claims I am not on the electoral roll - when I am on the full version and allowed to vote?0
