In this months Good Food, they had a couple of the recipes.
IMO they could have done a lot better by posting on here...cant wait to see the next family tho...did you see it at the end...putting food down the sink...Kent Bird!:beer:0 -
Did I miss how they spent £209? They spent just under £140 in Asda for the weeks shop, that was supposed to be the list of everything they needed for the week. Where did they spend the other £70, a third of their budget?
Agree with others they were a lovely family, I don't think I would be that enthusiastic cooking at 9pm with a film crew asking for retakes etc0 -
I'm so weak when it comes to cookery books:rolleyes::D. I have ordered it from Amazon for £9. I know it probably won't tell me anything I don't already know, but hey, I love cookery books and I especially love ones that agree with me;)
Anyone else got it?0 -

He spends £60 on groceries but then it says his daughter spends £2 per day on school meals so that is another £10. On the last programme the man was to take a packed lunch rather than buy food. :rotfl:
The only access to food for those not taking their own were a number of food and sandwich mobile units and vans.Large kitchens were provided with tables and chairs, microwave, water coolers, fridges and cupboards.
It never ceased to amaze me the amount of money that some workers spent especially the lads in other departments who would spend about £5 a day at least on sandwiches, crisps, chocolate and coffees. I used to think of how many sandwiches one can get from a loaf...They never saw how much they were getting through.
Tho I get fed up of sandwiches from time to time - never really been a big bread eater - I never got tired of my lunch. With a desk drawer containing cutlery, bowl, plate and mug I had leftovers, soups, noodles, rice dishes, all kinds..at a fraction of the cost of mobile van customers.:TWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

The programme is now compulsive viewing and I am toying with the idea of getting the book - not very money saving I know!! I just wondered when they were asked what leftovers they had and she produced bits of tomatoes out of the freezer - where were they from? and what tomato bits were they anyway. I'm always interested in what bits and pieces people chuck in their freezer for later and don't want to miss a trick.0

It was only Allegra and she was talking about bottled water and that they dont use it in her Leon restaurant and get letters from customers praising that they supply iced tap water to diners.0

Earlier on in the thread someone posted links to some of the recipes and there was a selection of pumpkin recipes so I assume at least one programme will be veggie.
I have bookmarked it as I have 4 big pumpkins growing in the garden now. Going to keep one for halloween, but eat the others yummy.
Will look for the link
