I have also heard many parents refer to themselves the same way, they say things like "mummy doesn't want you to do that" referring to themselves.
One "daddy" says "Daddy doesn't want you to do that" and she thinks "Well one daddy doesn't want me to do it, but there's no mention of the other, so I guess I can do it in front of one daddy but not the other. Now, if I can just work out which daddy he was meaning I'll be fine".
Sounds confusing to me!
Geordie, honestly. What on earth are you talking about? That little girl was so happy, surrounded by love and content. It was heart warming to watch. There was a closer relationship there , than I have seen in any of the other episodes. She did NOT seem confused to me. More content.
Don't make an issue where there isn't one. The food was great, the chefs were great, the family was great, the programme was great. You just come across as homophobic to be honest, picking unecessary faults.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Yeah, I've done pauls bread from the book and can't believe how easy and tasty it is. Bung the mix in my kenwood and let it kneed away for a few mins then rise for around 1 hour. Knock back and shape and raise for about 15 more mins, brush with salt water and bake. The outside is lovely and crisp. Secret seems to be the salt water and putting it in for 8 mins at a hot temp then turning it down for the rest of the time.
First time I made bread that actually worked lol.
Is the recipe for the bread on-line anywhere? Or are the ingredients etc given on the show? (Haven't seen it yet, will watch it over the weekend.)0 -

I didn't say she was confused, I just pointed out that IF she had two parents which she called the same name it could be confusing.
It was a response to a comment that if one parent referred to "daddy" it would be obvious to the girl that the were referring to the other parent. I just pointed out that some parents refer to them selves by "mummy" and "daddy", so it may not be obvious to the girl who is being referred to.
I am not homophobic, I would have said the same if she had two sisters with the same name or two brothers with the same name.0 -
I was answering you yesterday when your opinion wasthriftlady wrote: »Presumably they are both called 'daddy' how can that be confusing
Now you have done a 180 degree turn and changed your opinion tothriftlady wrote: »I'm sure two intelligent people have worked out a way of referring to themselves so that everyone in the family is clear who is who.
I can agree with you, there is no way it would work IF they were both called daddy.thriftlady wrote: »It is you who is making it confusing
You come in here yesterday with one opinion, then come back today with the complete opposite opinion and accuse me of confusing things!0 -
thriftlady wrote: »Presumably they are both called 'daddy' how can that be confusing when there are 2 of them? If one father refers to 'daddy' he must mean the other one. Or maybe one is called dad/pa/papa/father/da.
Geordie Joe you have quoted me out of context. If you read the rest of my paragraph you can see that I imagine they refer to each other as 'daddy' and then go on to suggest that alternatively they use another word. In other words they will have probably worked out something that works for their family.
I really can't see how that can be construed as changing my opinion0 -
bit off topic there guys.
this programme annoyed me in that it seems to assume everyone has a large freezer, and time.Mummy to two girls, 4 & 1, been at home for four years, struggling to contend with the terrifying thought of returning to work.0 -

I know that there's a link been given for the bread recipe online, but I've got the book and I couldn't find the bread recipe in it, at least not from the index. What page is it on please?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
