    I thought it was a series when I saw it in TV & Satellite Weekly last night. I won't get the book until I've seen the programme(s), at any rate.

  • just looked on the BBC website and it's billed as "the cook's answer to the credit crunch" and the 2 chefs who'll be presenting the show are Allegra McEvedy and Paul Merrett. That's all the news they've got at the mo!

    It might be good but it depends what they feel are affordable budget meals not the silly feed your family for a fiver how about feed your family for £3.50 or less would be more interesting

    What's the betting it is the "don't buy ready made meals but cook your own" type of programme?

    Well, it's about time BBC starting providing the viewers with some useful programmes for their licence fee money, instead of all the rubbish they currently transmit.

    When I first saw those 'feed your family for a fiver' adverts I thought, a fiver for a week's shopping - that's quite good going! Then I realised it was just for one meal!

    It's like the bit in 'Tightwad Gazette' where the author gets depressed because she thinks the recommended government family budget for a month is too low...and then she realise that's the amount recommended for a week!
