Ring Valuation in Cardiff/Caerphilly area

I've recently run into some troubles with money, and have decided to sell off unwanted items, I have in my possetion a diamond ring, of which I do not know its value or carat.

I would be very grateful If anyone could help me find someone who could help me value my ring so I can then sell it on, though I do not have much money to pay for the valuation.

I believe the diamond to be 8point 2 carat, and the ring itself is 18carat Gold.

I'm really in a bind, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a further point I have a 2 colour welsh gold ring.

I live in the cardiff and caerphilly area and my transport is fairly limited, I could provide photo's if needed and am willing to bring the rings to the locations, if any, provided.

Thank you in advance, Victory.

(I hope it is understandable as to why I have kept my name hidden)

F Hinds Jewellers just opposite the Disney shop in cardiff had a valuation day about two weeks ago might be worth giving them a call to see if they do them on a regular basis/
  • Thank you very much for the information.

If you want to sell the ring, why not try the people in the Capitol Centre Cardiff who give instant cash for gold. I've sold a few items there very successfully.
  • Thanks Hansi I know where that is.

Only one jewellers in Cardiff worth visiting - Clive Ranger. They will charge you a flat fee plus a percentage of its value for the valuation service.
  • Thank you Daveyjp
Taking on board all these replies and most grateful for everyones help.
we need to do our homework before jumping into doing something which will not give a good return.
    thanks again all.
  • If you're in the Caerphilly area you could always try Andrew Berry Jewellery in the main street in Ystrad Mynach. He's got a website if you're interested - just type Andrew Berry into Google- and as he owns & runs the shop you get a much more personal service especially if you're not sure what you want to do.

You could also try Stuart Mitchell, The Balcony, Castle Arcade. Steps opposite the crystal shop to go up.
He's a jobbing jeweller and is who Clive Ranger uses for much of their repair and resizing work.

  • I don't know if its any help but they are currently having a free valuation day at the Dolphin Hotel in Swansea. Perhaps they come to Cardiff too. A friend just sold her gold & diamond ring there and they gave her a fair price. Maybe work a telephone call to find out. Good luck.

I sold my jewellery on the weekend in my local Gus Jones's which is around the Caerphilly area. I would definately shop around though Victory, I should imagine you will get a lot of different valued quotes.
