Problem with Indesit Dishwasher

Hi
I need help with my slimline indesit dishwasher.
It flooded the kitchen this morning - perhaps because a medicine pot had fallen into the filter? We managed to empty the machine, and left it for a couple of hours before trying to turn it on again. At that point it tripped the fuse for all the downstairs sockets ( we live in a new build house with safety fuses, etc).
We left it again, just in case, and tried a second time - same thing happened - the electricity is getting to the machine as we power it up, then it automatically cuts out and trips the fusebox.
Where do we go from here - I refuse to spend the better part of £100 for one of their service engineers. We've had it for almost 3 years.
Any advice gratefully received.

Sounds pretty bad, can’t quite understand how a medicine pot caused the machine to leak, tripping the circuit breaker may be due to water, did the machine get soaked inside the electrical connections? Hopefully it may dry out.
Could there be something trapped in the drain pump.
Good Luck. ( And Take Care)

If the RCD is tripping you have a short to earth.
If it's an MCB you have an overload situation.
A short to earth is usually caused by an exposed wire or live connector of some sort touching the casing or some other part of the machine that is earthed via the plug.
An overload will be caused by some motor or other current using device in the machine trying to draw too much current, often when it is overloaded or jammed. The possible cause above is such an example.

when we had an indesit dishwasher we had a similar problem. Under the dishwasher is a catch tray with a float device in it, to cut the power, if this still has water in it this could be tripping the electricity cutout. good luck.0
