  • Yup, not working for me sadly.
  • Sorry guys, you'd have to pay me to get this game!

Champ Manager is years behind football manager data wise and game wise. There are a LOT of bugs, which is why they're giving it away so cheap!

If I want to download it on a desktop computer, but install it on my laptop will this likely work, or will I finish up purchasing a game that I can't install on my laptop?

I believe you get a few licenses to install it on multiple machines. You can even burn it to DVD.

But that doesn't change how rubbish the game is ;)

  • I got the internal error message a couple of times then I registered using the top right link on the website and was able to order it for £2.51.

    Hope this helps!
  • I suspect the main reason they are doing this is because they've been working on it for the best part of two years, having endlessly postponing the 2009 edition because it 'wasn't ready'. I guess this is their way of making it up to the brand's fans for not releasing the previous season.

Unfortunately, from what I've played of the demo, they haven't succeeded in making a version capable of competing with Football Manager, and so if the problems with the website persist then I wouldn't bother. The game needs an awful lot more work if the demo is close to how it will be released, which is quite frankly embarrassing considering how long it's taken them to finish this game.

I remember the original Championship Manager 92/93 - way ahead of its time and scarily addictive.

I'm hoping for good things from this, and at £2.51 it's not much of a risk!

The chaps that wrote the old Champ Manager now produce Football Manager. The modern CM is a pale imitation.
