HI all First Direct rang today to give 28 days notice on forclosure of my current account because I have entered into an IVA. I don't have any debts associated with them it is just there policy.......

Question is, is there a bank account available to me where I can withdraw money on switch/debit card at all switch machines and will I get a £500 O/D facility which is useful and if used cleared off every month??

Look forward to any advice.........

chances are you will be offered no overdraft as you will fail the credit check because of the iva, also its not allowed in some cases the most you will get is a solo or visa electron
Aqua card - £250 Limit up to date, Jd Williams £150 limit up to date, Argos store card £400 limit up to date, Next £300 limit up to date.
  • thanks for that on my IVA it says I can have a loan facility of no more than 500 pounds.....

I dont think many/any banks would want to take a risk considering a persons past experience?

You are strictly speaking not allowed further credit but in some circumstances - with permission from your IP and a bank willing to lend - you may be able to get something... unlikely though.

There are a number of banks will give you a current account though.
