thanks everyone for taking the time to respond, much apprciated :)

Ive just sold a lot of stuff on Ebay, to buy what I need for the baby, and Im very pleased that Ive bought all the things baby needs with Ebay funds, and mostly from Ebay itself. So it didnt cost me anything, so Ive still got the £500 grant plus the £190 healthy food grant to look forward to, and put towards my suffering account.
  • your groceries bill seems perhaps a little high is the onlyother thing i can add. Good Luck xxx

    Hello Acon,

Well done to you for posting your SOA.

You are in a difficult situation but you can do it if you really want to.

When is the baby due? How old are the other children.

Why not get hubby to phone mobile phone company and tell them you have no money (true) and tell them they better do something as you can not pay next months £35. see what happens. You have to make them believe you.

Start a spending diary TODAY to find out exactly where you money goes. Knowledge is power.

    What is the other insurance.?

If you want to sort this you have to make some sacrifices.

    Good Luck

Other insurance is his van insurance, hes trying to go self employed, builder, at the moment its just another expense tbh, but like they say, speculate to accumulate. Hes got a job interview tomorrow for a better paying building firm to tide us over til his business takes off, so fingers crossed.
My kids are nrly 7 and 3.5. They are with an ex, and he is not paying child support. If the CSA got themselves into gear Id be maybe another £45 a wk better off. (Ive been waiting, and calling, since November)
The baby is due in December, and with tax credits etc, with our current income, we'd be £60 better off a wk for first yr. (But then the cost of baby adds in too...)
  • could you do something like the Avon or Betterware to get a little bit more money coming in? Could your husband start advertising in local shop windows or advertise as a handy man?

my mobile phone isnt too bad, £10 a mth on 02 and I get free calls etc, but my hubby is stuck to an 18mth contract, with 6mths left at 35 a mth. (just realised its £45 a mth not £75)

It said to give a present thing divided by 12, I have 2 children and spend roughly 250-300 each between christmas and birthdays combined.,(then theres other family) I also have a baby on the way.
The clothes again is an estimate over the yr, 2 growing children... I dont buy for myself usually, except recently maternity clothes.
Ive cancelled sky and internet, net is off in 2 weeks, 15 a mth is line rental and a few calls, will probably be getting this cut off too.
my insurance was for my new cheaper car, the cheapest on the comparison site. And Im pretty sure my pet insurance is the cheapest, we've just sold one dog to make a saving which devastated me.

I honestly cant see where else I can cut down.

250-300 each on presents for a start...

I earn much more than you and I feel as if I'm going over the top if I spend that much on presents for kids during the year, try to cut back there
The proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

Hes out advertising, delivering leaflets etc now
I cant do much, with 2 kids, one with behavioural issues (was not allowed in his preschool because of his behaviour, and no-one will watch him) and now suffering with SPD and Sciatica, Im a bit of a waste of space, so its all down to my husband.
I hate being in this situation, we dont smoke/drink, go out, spend recklessly, but still we have nothing to show for all his hard work.

I spend definately no more than £40 a week on groceries, loo rolls, washing liquid etc. £15 of that is a fruit and veg box delivered from Abel and Cole. We are a family of 2 adults, 3 children age 10 and 8, a 2 year old, a dog, 2 guinea pigs and a hamster. £80 to me seems very very high.

This could definately be lowered and there are some fab boards on here to help you.

    Good luck.
    May £10 a day challenge
    £19.61/£310
    Ebay challenge...£12.61/£200
  • i dont know what to suggest any further - it seems unless you hubby can get extra work from somewhere. good luck
