Any ideas what I could do with this lot? Please

Good afternoon all, well I have just been through all my cupboards, freezers and fridge and made a list of what I have got, it seems there is soooo much there, but when I go shopping I seem to keep buying more and more. I am a DFW and want to try and pay off a huge chunk of my CC this month when I get paid on Friday.
The reason I am posting is too ask you wonderful ladies if you could look at my list of stuff and maybe make some suggestions on what meals I could make with it all, maybe two weeks worth or more if I have enough food, I am really clueless :o. The only problem I have is that hubbie will not eat anything with cheese on top, so while myself and my 2 DS will eat pizza etc he wont, but I can always make an extra portion of shepherds pie for him lol. I have 2 slow cookers, a standard remoska, and a pannie breadmaker as well a microwave and cooker lol.

So here is my list, quite embarrasing really as I have no idea what to do with it all apart from the obivous, shepherds pie etc.

My goodness that is an embarrassing list, more so that I have no idea what to do with most of it:o.

I'm sure that you will be given tons of ideas, I'm just as clueless as you though so I'll just come round yours for tea instead :rotfl:

Blackish banana's can be made into 3 banana cakes - receipe on the forum somewhere - will try and dig it out. THis would do for kids snacks, afternoon tea ;)

Cauliflower cheese is the other one which stands out in my quick glance! OH can have something else as per your suggestion of cottage pie.

Spaghetti in garlic and oil is a quick lunch/dinner!

Eggs on toast lunch to use up those eggs?

You have a lot of pasta there. Some of those lentils can make a good sauce if you use also some of that vegetable stock cubes.

That "tons of porridge" should make a few good breakfasts.

Others will add their advice here, but I think you also have a few good ideas already as to what to do with your extensive list, lol. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Wow that is a lot of food, almost too much to make suggestions as there is so much choice!
A favourite of mine and my housemates is to make tuna curry; fry off an onion, add in some spices, I like turmeric and some chilli powder then add in 2 tins tuna and about 1 pint stock and 2 potatoes chopped into small chunks and cook until potatoes are cooked. Serve with rice

You seem to have a lot of sauce mixes which will make it easier e.g. sausage casserole with your sauce and sausages and a tin of beans chucked in served with pasta or rice or potatoes

If you want to stretch the meat out you could use smaller portions than you would usually use and bulk out with porridge oats or lentils, in a sauce that would blend in nicely

Maybe start with the eggs and do some spanish omelettes with some cheese for those that like it or whip up some meringues and freeze the yolks to use later

Sweetcorn and peas are great with rice in a risotto or a 'special fried rice' where you could season some pork diced thinly and cook it and add to the cooked rice later with some spices, wouldn't need much meat in it either if you used peas and sweetcorn.

Cauliflower and brussels scream roast dinner to me but if you could make up a cheesey sauce you could do an oven bake with them once cooked to have with a main, hubby may have to go out...

What about using the stuffing mix made up and then mixed with mash to layer on top of a shepherd's pie or a casserole or using it to make 'dumplings' to chuck in with the stewing meat in a casserole...

    Am hungry now :D HTH

There is definitely the makings of a trifle type pudding in there with the jelly and fruit and custard.

You could make a stew with the meat and some potatoes/veg and use some as a pie filling.

empy - it's a dish I discovered in Sorrento a few weeks ago!

    Serves 4
    • 1 pound pasta
    • Salt
    • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
    • 4-6 garlic cloves, peeled & chopped
    • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
    • Freshly ground pepper
Fry the garlic in the oil - add to the spaghetti - or add the spaghetti to it. season with salt, pepper, parsley (or chilli flakes!) and eat - yummy!

Another one for spaghetti is to use beef/pork mince to make meatballs! A few cans of chopped toms, basil/mixed herbs later and hey presto!

Another of my faves (I'm addicted if the truth be told) is pasta, topped with warm baked beans and finished off with a sprinkling of cheese - YUM!!!!!!!

Ooh just spotted vanilla custard with chopped banana's in there too -

By an oven bake I just mean using a lasagne dish and chucking everything in, like a pasta bake etc. I think with cauliflower you could cook it and then tip cheese sauce over it and bake it in the oven or you could cook some sausages or chicken and some pasta and tip over some tinned tomatoes and herbs and a few veggies and make a pasta bake.

Meringues, get a very clean bowl and put in 3 egg whites, make sure there is no yolk in there as fat will ruin the meringue. Beat them (I use a hand whisk) and when they are stiff add 175g caster sugar a tbsp at a time, the mixture should turn lovely and glossy. Spoon onto a baking tray and bake on a medium heat (I would go for 180 probably) for about an hour then turn off the oven and leave them in there to cool. My problem is not eating the entire tray at once!
