Avoid Bambino Direct!

I advise everyone to AVOID BAMBINO DIRECT - have just spoken to the person who's been brought in to sort out their issues, only to be informed by her that it was her fault my order has been messed up.

I was in the market for a new pushchair and car seat as we had to return our previous one to another shop as it was faulty. Shopping around I found Bambino Direct to be the most competitive on price, but decided to check the forums for other people's experiences of them.

Due to the less than positive feedback, I decided I'd call them direct, as opposed to order online, to see if they can meet my requirements. I told them I needed the pushchair to be delivered the next day as our 5 week old baby was without one and that all the time we do not have one, we're stuck in the house. I was assured that it would be sent that day and be with me the following day, so I was satisfied and decided to make my purchase.

It's now the day of delivery and no sign of my pushchair... I've just spoken to them and have been told that it wasn't sent yesterday, but instead will go today and be with me tomorrow. This is obviously very frustrating as I've had to stay home from work today to await delivery and am also unable to take my baby out for yet another day.

I asked how they were going to compensate me for this inconvenience and was told they can't give me a cash amount or vouchers, but instead they would send me a 'gift.' Obviously a 'gift' is a very broad term, so when I pushed further I was told I could choose from a comb set, or a plate and cutlery set - neither of which come close to the amount I've been put out - two days off work to await delivery and two days unable to take my baby out when I'd been informed otherwise!

Needless to say, I turned down the 'gift' and have instead decided to warn anyone else to avoid them!

They quote 5-7 working days - did they charge you extra for next day, you ought to be claiming that back.

BTW, how do you take baby out if you're at work?

This should be on the vent board, I think.

The items I purchased said 1-2 days delivery, hence I rang. The person on the phone categorically told me it was in stock and would be sent that day.

When I'm at work, she can go out with Granny in her pushchair :)

How do I move this to the vent board??

So the pushchair was delivered yesterday in a tatty, clearly already opend box.

I opened it and removed the contents, only to discover there was no instructions. Upon further investigation half of the push chair was missing!! I had a frame, some wheels but nothing to seat my little one in! Unbelievable!!

Not only can Bambino Direct not deliver on their promises, but it turns out they can't even get an order right! I'm now in a situation where I've no pushchair for three days becasue of them.

I rang this morning and they blamed it on the delivery firm - however why they would want to steal just part of a pushchair I've no idea - poor excuse I think!

So what are they going to do about my dilemma (I'm going away in 2 days)?? Nothing whatsoever! Apparently they're going to pick up the pushchair and refund me when they recieve it back - no offer of compensation or even a consession on another pushchair!

I'm now without a pushchair for my holiday on Saturday, no money to buy another before my holiday as they won't refund me until it's back with them and nothing to show how sorry they are for messing me about.

I've never come across such an appalling company - they shouldn't be allowed to trade!! PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT SHOPPING FROM BAMBINO DIRECT!!!

    Bump of this post.

Bambino Direct is absolutely useless and I ditto the warning. My circumstances are different but I have found there customer service the worst I have ever had to deal with. And that includes British Gas!
  • I have had a very bad experience with Bambino Direct and would urge people not to use them. They may offer very competitive prices but I have spent a considerable amount on phone calls to them. To cut a very long story short, they sent me the wrong item. Then I was told someone would come and collect the incorrect item and deliver the correct item. Waited in all day and no one came. Then was told that the item wasn't in stock but someone would come and collect the incorrect item and then I would get a refund. Waited in all day and no one came. I'm still waiting for the issue to be resolved. Emails don't get answered, no one that I've spoken to at the company has a clue whats going on. Many phone calls have not been connected or I have been on hold for 20 minutes at a time. SAVE YOURSELVES A LOT OF HASSLE AND STAY CLEAR OF BAMBINO DIRECT.
  • I have had major problems with BHS Direct and have found out that it is not BHS but Bambino Direct in disguise. Are they allowed to do this? Do BHS want to associate themselves with Bambino Direct????? I wish I had known before I bought. The battle goes on......................
