Novice on MSE seeks help

This is probably a very silly question but how do I easily get back to something I've posted without wading through pages and hoping I spot it again? eg. I posted a question on Food and Shopping thread (about beer for £5 at Tesco) so how will I know someone's replied? In fact how will I know someone's replied to this question??

Login, click "User CP" in the light green bar above, then click "your profile" on the left. this will give you a link to "find all posts by victoria meldrew"

beyond that you can mess about with 'subscribing to threads' but I don't usually bother
(the little arrow next to 'thread tools' above is the place to start here)

Hi,

if you click 'quick links' along the top, then scroll down to 'subscribed threads', it will show all the threads you have made a comment in.
