Don't just head straight for Barcelona. Girona old town is really cute. We spent 3 nights there a couple of years ago. City walls that you can walk the length of with old, narrow cobbled streets, cathedral, museums etc. Much recommended! Barcelona's fantastic too, metro good for getting around.0

Find the main bus station in Barc. and from there they do a guided full city tour from 12-30 to 4pm for about €90

there is one of those hop on hop off bus tours like you get in london. stops at all the attractions and main train stations etc...
wish we'd done it...we did two days and missed so much! mind you one day was wasted/spent (
) at the neu camp!!! x x x0 -
I love Barcelona, make sure you go and see the Cathedral, Sagrada Familia it will take your breath away, and if you are at all in to architecture buy a Gaudi guide book (the one we got only cost a couple of € but was worth every penny) His buildings are still stunning.
Cheesy as it it the fountain light show is good fun too, I don't know if you will have kids with you but if you do they will love it.0 -
I too love Barcelona and would advise you to catch the 'Bus Turistic'. You can catch this all over town (where you see bus stops with 'bus turistic eye' on it but starts from Mount Colom which is a large statue of Christopher Columbus bown by Maremagnum shopping centre (harbour area). There is 2 lines to try red & blue and 1 day ticket costs 15e and you get on and off both buses as often as you like, more info here
Sagrada Familia worth stopping at and so is Park Guell (Gaudi as well). So much to see & do in a day so worth you looking into what you may be interested in before you go.
Montjuic magic fountains are just that...magic!
Don't forget to take a walk down Las Ramblas and down some of the hundreds of beautiful side streets off it (looking up while walking).
I am sure you will love it and go back for more than a single day in future.
