Visa card transactions on 25th july -check your statements!

Warning!

If you used your Visa card on 25th/26th July, you are advised to check your bank statments carefully.

I bank with the Halifax and used my card to buy lunch on 25th as did a co-worker.

We were both double charged.

I contacted Halifax this morning and the "ever so helpful" (not) CSA advised me that the problem is known to Halifax and was caused by the company handling the payments/transactions.

She also advised me that they are unaware when they will refund the overcharging - furthermore - if the double charging causes you to go overdrawn, or a DD to fail you will STILL be charged the bank fees!

The bank say they do not know the full extent of the problem, but you are strongly advised to check your statements to see if you too have been overcharged.
