1st Credit

Hi can anyone help.
Have just today received a letter from 1st Credit, saying:-
That Lloyds TSB Bank plc ("Lloyds TSB") has assigned to 1st credit (Finance) limited ("1st Credit") all of the banks rights in to and under the above account. We have been appointed by Lloyds TSB to administer the account.
I think, but am not sure that this is for a loan, I possibly had, over six years old. Would I be right in thinking that if this is over six years old, & I have not made any payment or acknowledged the debt, it is statute barred.
With regards to statute barred are loans & credit cards the same time periods. Any help would be gratefully received,
Regards

If you haven't made a payment or acknowledged the debt for six years or more, then yes, it should be statute barred.
There is advice on the national debtline website

And report 1st crudit to the OFT, pronto.
By the way another DCA is on trouble for chasing statute barred debts, so it paears that each DCA just changes tactics. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks for your replies, have just one more question, they also said in there letter "If you want a copy of your personal information send your request along with an administration fee off £10.00 and a stamped addressed envelope" Is that right?.
I thought that a CCA request, only has to have a £1.00 postal order with it & no self addressed envelope?
Think I will send CCA request anyway, this will clarify exactly what account there reffering to, also it will confirm if the debt is six years old, which I am pretty sure it is.0 -
I'm not sure it would be wise to send a CCA request as it could be seen as acknowledging the debt but I'm not sure on this.
I'd agree with RAS, OFT is probably the way to go.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
They are referring to a Subject Access request that does cost £10. That covers everything they hold on you, rather than just the CCA.
BVut you do not need it, you need to report them.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

But remember it's not whether the original debt was from more than six years ago, it's whether it is six years or more from the last time you made payment or acknowledged the debt.0 -
Sorry to repeat myself, but I thought that if I sent the CCA request, stating at the top I Do Not Acknowledge Any Debt, then that is sufficient.
Also I am not one hundred percent sure that this debt is six years old. I do not recall having paid or acknowledging it though in the last six years. So if I request the CCA surly I can then confirm the account & clarify if it is or isn't statute barred?0
