HSBC Graduate Overdraft Increase?
Levster

Hello
So I got a letter from HSBC a few days ago saying my student account was changing to a graduate account because I had finished Uni. It also stated (not very clearly) that I could increase my overdraft from 1000 to 1500 which I was very, very happy with and thought this would happen automatically. Unfortunately it didn't and so I gave them a call to see if I could get it increased because I am desperately low on money. However I accidently told the guy on the phone I was unemployed and he said to call back when I have a job.
I basically want to know how easy it is to !!!!!!!! and tell them I am employed. Will I need proof or was it a fairly fleeting question? I know it's dishonest to lie but there is no way I will be unemployed in 2 weeks time, let alone a years time. I basically want to know before I call is it easy to lie and get the overdraft? I do have a part time job but it is hardly any hours shall I just tell them that or will they need proof?
Thankyou.

The partime job at the moment, do your wages get paid into the account?
If so its fine.
They will check statements sometimes to see if money is being paid into the account, as long as it is, its fine.0 -
Well here's the thing, the wages are very very low. Maybe 50quid a month? How often do you think they'd check? I'm also on the dole.0

So shall I give it a go?0
