EDF - They've resurrected V5 Dual Fuel Tarif

I'm with EDF and was on V6. I rang them today to discuss a move to Npower and they informed me that they have "just" resurrected V5 dual fuel online tarif. The quoted rates will save me about £85 compared to the V6.
I understand this might not be available in all regions and the V5 may be withdrawn at any time - but worth checking out if you are on V6 or possibly even on older "V" tarifs.
Good Luck.

I was on the "Price Protection 2009" tariff, until today. Have switched to V5. Based on my past years annual KWh consumption for both gas and electric, projected forward using same consumption but at V5 price, I stand to save £234!! This takes into account the direct debit discounts available on this tariff!
Worth noting everyone, that if you are on a capped tariff with EDF, and there is a cancellation charge if you end it early, EDF don't charge you this if you switch to another tariff with them. The V5 tariff is available ONLINE ONLY unless of course you phone them up and say "My computer is broken and I can't sign up online", in which case they do it over the phone for you, and it takes literally 2 minutes.0 -
Well, it ain't on their website, and they tell me they've never heard of it...0

I've just noticed this online v5 rate from EDF and am thinking of switching from the scottich power online tariff I'm on at present.
One question, does anyone know if the EDF online v5 tariff has any long term tie-in? The reason I ask this is because in the terms and conditions it mentions that I would have to keep the account until the 2% deal finishes in July 2010.something missing0 -
Just spoken with EDF cust. serv. to check ads' comment about tie-in until July 2010.
This tarif guarantees to be 2% cheaper than the EDF std. tarif until July 2010. The V5 charges may vary - it's not fixed - but will retain this 2% lower margin.
There's also no tie-in period or penalty for changing to an alternate supplier at any time.
So, good news.0 -
If you are switching to EDF and this plan don't forget there's £40 available at certain cashback sites for a dual fuel switch. This makes it a far more financially advantageous deal than the Eon £70 cashback deal (funnily enough) as Eon's cheapest tariff is on average £70 per year more than EDF V5..and Eon don't grant any discount on the final bill (so effectively it's an exit fee by another name).Call me Carmine....

Hhmmm.. I can't seem to get it to work, nor arrange "Gordon Brown" to spell "National Embarrassment" either... must be my spelling, I suppose.0 -

I've been to various cashback sites (Quidco, moneysupermarket etc) and none are offering cashback for switching to EDF that I can see.
I believe this product is ONLY available directly and not via an introducer
