Hi all,
Thanks for reading i just need advice really.
I opened my ebay account quite a while ago and i have pay pal set up too. But i have never used them and i'm lost, how do i use them.
First problem is every time i do find something i want i cant get it as i have no history and no one wants to send me anything. could that just be it is usually items over £50 and people don't want to chance it! what did others do to get a good history at the beginning. should i go for cheap stuff first?
Secondly if i ever do actually get an item to pay for how the heck do you do it(pay pal), never got that far(how sad) or where can i get info on the steps to take. My details have been verified (bank too).
Thanks from a complete novice.

Yes, you should buy at least a few cheap items. Loads of stuff going for far less than it should from private sellers starting at 99p to save the 10p insertion fee, you might even be able to sell it on to get more feedback.
Paypal is very straightforward to use, once you have won an item click "pay now" or checkout (can't remember which it says) and it will take you to paypal to login, just login and click pay.0 -
Paypal pays for the goods and then you get a bill, which is paid by the associated account by direct debit or whatever option you opted for when you set up the account.
It is really straight forward.
If everyone ignored first time buyers/sellers then it would be a difficult market to get into !! The way forward is probably to sell cheaper stuff but that should not be required.0 -
just tried to buy a small item is it normal to be asked to verify by either a phone call or a credit card!slowly going nuts at the world:T0
