Even more so on the BBC who are reporting a 1% rise!
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8172097.stm

"House prices in England and Wales have risen month-on-month for the first time since January 2008, according to the Land Registry. The 1% rise in June compared with May brought the value of the average home to £153,046, the survey found."

    They quickly changed it........

11:15 28Jul09 Land Registry says UK house prices rose 0.1% in June

(07/28) The 0.1% rise is the first positive monthly change since 2008,
according to the Land Registry, but it says that rather than signifying
solid growth, it is more a reflection of "flattening prices."

Talk about stating the obvious...! The first increase in about 18 months and it's a mighty 0.1%... how could anyone see that as solid growth??

    ...actually, don't answer that :o
    plus ça change........

A measly 0.1% in the middle of the 'spring bounce' is pathetic really. You can just imagine the substantial falls we can expect in the cold winter months ahead of us. BEWARE THE BULL TRAP.

Start of the Spring bounce for the L.R. icon7.gif

I expect the LR figure to become "laggy and unreliable" from this point onwards, relegated from "the only one worth checking".

Its only agents and only anecdotal but in Feb I was advised I might get 250, in may 275 was thought likely and now 300k might be possible - I know it is a local thing but prices are moving in some areas. I am becoming more and more in the camp of bull trap but that doesn't mean it is not happening in some areas.
    I think....

Could be. If they bulldozed the entire borough of Hackney and built a huge souvenir stall on it that would probably improve land values of the surrounding areas too.

i.e. no more "its a bit close to Hackney isnt it" anxiety.
