(07/28) The UK [Land Registry House Price Index] reports a 0.1%
increase in June 2009, on an annualised basis prices are 14% lower than a
year ago. The 0.1% rise is the first positive monthly change since 2008,
according to the Land Registry, but it says that rather than signifying
solid growth, it is more a reflection of "flattening prices."

It also states that the number of sales averaged 30,997 per month from January to April 2009, down from 59,948 over the same period last year.

In May, the Land Registry reported that prices fell 0.2% (-15.9% annual change) while the number of property transactions averaged 31,091 per month between December 2008 and March 2009. (AM)
