Unenforceable Interest on Mortgage

Morning All,
I am just after some information.. I have just received a phone call from a company named: Client Connection Limited who claim that I may be entitled to a refund on some of the interest paid on my mortgage as it was taken out before 2007 and may be incorrect , (along the same sort of lines as the loans and credit cards).
They provided me with the following website: claimsregulation.gov.ukand their authorised business number (CRM16588) which brings up all their company information.
I was advised that a fee of £149 is payable which is refunded in the unlikely event of claiming less than £2000.
To me this all seems too good to be true which points towards it being a scam, however by pointing me to all the websites and providing information to me which I can check on seems that a lot of work has gone into it for it all to be a scam..
What do you think ?

Wonder what the chance of ever seeing that £149 again is? mmm
For £149 x lots of people you can get a damn good looking web-sites.
Why do the words bargepole very long and very spring to mind?0 -
Naaah I think they're ripping you off  Send me a hundred quid and I'll provide the same service :rotfl:0

There is no need for scarcastic reponses..Whilst I appreciate that this looks like a scam, I was only asking because they are on a government website and on the off chance that someone may of had some experience with them.0

If you're not put off by the cold calling, you should be put off by the lack of success stories.
Also ask yourself why, if they're so successful, they would need the fee upfront.0 -
Which government website is it on please?
http://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/

What has the year 2007 got to do with your mortgage anyway? Your mortgage is not regulated by the Consumer Credit Act.0

I think the OP means you can search for the company on that website to prove it's regulated.0 -
I did laugh.
Do you send money to Nigerians to get unknown "inheritances" aswell ?0
