Never Had Life Insurance

I am 29 and my partner is 34 and we have never had any life insurance.
After a family bereavement we think it now time we made some provision.
We have a 4 year old son and don't want to leave him with any financial problems.
We have a £135k interest only mortgage with 20 years to run.
We are loking for a joint quote which will cover both life and critical illness But i don't know where to start or what cover to include.
Thanks

Love the way a first time poster puts up a question then (co-incidentally of course) another first time poster responds, dropping in their URL. Genius.0

Alternately,talk to your bank
Why talk to the bank?
Banks are the most expensive distribution channels, most of them are tied to one provider or have a limited panel and the product they offer usually has reviewable premiums and not guaranteed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Thats not the best information I have seen on here - a comparison website isnt going to compare the levels of critical illness cover provided by each provider or suggest to single policies (child + house)
The bank idea is a real bad suggestion.
I think an IFA would be the best port of call.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
