Sil has taken a deposit on his car, leaving well over 11K balance to be paid. It's a private buyer. He says he'll pay by whatever method sil requires.
All my cars have been nearly dead when I've sold them so cash has been the sensible payment, but obviously not so practical in this case.
Whats the safe, cheap option that won't leave everyone waiting around for clearance, but above all is bullet proof??

Cheers.

With that sort of money i would either have cash but bank it before releasing the car or a draft and ring the bank to make sure its real.0

I would do one of the following:
If you both bank at the same institution you could stand in the local branch bank and get a transfer done. Ask the bank befoer hand for advice on how to do this transaction.
Otherwise go with the buyer to the bank to collect the draft, walk over to your bank to deposit it and find a coffee shop somewhere to sign documents, put them in the post and hand over keys.0
