in Credit cards
I want to build up my credit rating. Having lived here only for one year in the uk it's not brilliant. I do have a credit card at the moment and I have missed 1 payment on it just over 6 mths ago and also made a few cash advances.(Silly I know but I've learnt the meaning of this since).
I pay the minimum amount every month and now i have managed to get my finances back in order and can pay it full every month. Also I go into my overdraft but again i've really budgeted in the last few months it's improved.
(I discovered this website, thanks to my boyfriend, I seen the error of my ways and then gave myself a good kick and finally proceeded to stress about my credit score rating and last but not least decided to get my act together.)
I would like to apply for a credit card like capital one, Vanquis or Aquacard and poss get rid of my existing card.
I do not want to apply and be rejected leaving a credit search on my report.
Can anyone tell me how easy is it to get one of these cards?
I was possibly thinking of capital one but a lot of people seem to have trouble with that company.
I'd appreciate any thoughts or opinions.

I havent had a problem with Capital One at all. Out of all the subprime cards I have, I prefer Capital One. Each to their own though.0

you will improve your credit rating if you use credit regularly and pay on time etc
so keep your current card, spend a little each month and pay in full ...set up a DD to pay in full.
never draw cash on a cc as thts seen as having financial difficulties
avoid going into your overdraft regularly as this is seen as having financial problems too.
otherwise I see no benefit at this time of getting another CC.0 -
capone only give you low limit to start with like £100 i would try flybe first
https://www.flybe.com/card/default.htm
or
or auqa card http://www.aquacard.co.uk/
Capital One https://www.capitalone.co.uk/creditcards/secure/application.jsf
Vanquis Visa http://www.vanquis.co.uk/home/home.aspx0 -
Am not sure I understand why you need a credit card. You already have one, 1 missed payment is not going to have a severe impact on your file in the long run and getting another card am not sure will improve your rating.0

Searches aren't a bad thing - many searches over a short period are.0
